Our Story

Skip Creative was founded in 2024 by Alyssa, a Senior Graphic Designer from Brisbane, Australia.

The Founder & Designer behind Skip Creative, Alyssa also works full time in the corporate world as a Senior Graphic Designer, running Skip Creative after hours. With a Bachelor of Creative Industries (with distinction) from QUT, and a graphic design career starting in 2014, Alyssa has had a variety of experience designing for government, real estate, banking, construction, fashion, tech and more.

As the dedicated designer of her friend group, Alyssa has had a fair go at wedding and event stationery before it became a business. A hen’s party here, an engagement party there, and a wedding or three, got the passion going to start a business and find a premium paper supplier!

With a love for specialty print methods like letterpress and foiling, textured card stock, beautiful colour schemes and font pairings, Alyssa’s style blends minimal, clean, and modern, with fun and playful.

FAQs

  • There is no such thing as too early! But there is such thing as too late. Make sure to jump in your guests calendars before they book holidays! People sometimes plan holidays a year in advance, so I would get those Save the Dates out 8-12 months before your wedding, and the invitations 3-4 months before.

    We recommend you get in touch 4-5 weeks before you want to send them around, so we have plenty of time to get everything finalised.

  • As soon as you want gf! Better to be over prepared than under prepared! I’d recommend getting your order in once you’ve locked in your colours, i.e. your bridesmaid dresses and flowers. As a minimum, you’ll need to have placed your order 4 weeks before the day. Let us know if you need a rush order before ordering.

  • Make a list of all your guests so you can get an idea of how many guests you have, and group them by household. Couples who live together only need one invite, not two, so you might only need two thirds of your guest list. But we always recommend ordering 10 more invitations than your final amount for spares, new guests, and in case you've forgotten anyone in the process.

  • On average, I'll email your first design proof for review within 3-5 days. However more complex designs can take longer.

    Each round of revisions adds 1-2 days. Once your proof is approved, I’ll send it to print.

    Production times can vary depending on your order, but typically take 1-2 weeks. Please allow extra time for letterpress and foil (+10 business days).

    Shipping can take up to 2 weeks. We have partnered with some of Australia’s best in the industry to print your stationery to ensure it reflects the quality we both desire, and they are based in Perth. We only use reliable posties that won’t damage your order.

    If you need a rush order, please let us know before you place your order.

    We suggest ordering at least 4 weeks before you need your items.

  • Yes, please let us know you need a rush order so we can double-check everything to be sure we can meet your deadline! The production and shipping times are often the biggest hold up. Rush orders attract a $75 fee (including shipping).

  • There are a lot of amazing stationery designers out there, some have breathed the wedding industry for 10+ years. Our point of difference is we have an immaculate eye for detail, you’ll get a one-on-one personalised experience with Founder and Designer Alyssa, who is super friendly, helpful, and an experienced creative.

    And we’ve partnered with the same premium printery that many top stationery designers also use, so you’ll get the exact same high-quality results.

  • Design tailored to your style, and as many revisions as you need. Once we’ve locked in your design and you’ve sent your approval, we send it off to print at a premium printery. It’ll then make it’s way to me for a quality check, and then direct to you!

    Our wedding invitation suites can include details cards, rsvp cards, envelopes, pockets, belly bands, illustrations and more. On the day items could include anything from signage, table numbers, place name cards, menus, seating charts and more.

  • Of course you can! We can even generate a QR code for you if you give us your wedding website url. All details on your stationery can be changed, from the wording to the placement, to the colours and paper type.
